Gap at CET Japan

Small Program, Big City

You’ll have the best of both worlds—a fully-staffed program with few students on a cozy campus, and a bustling metropolis only a 15-minute train ride away. Get the individual attention you need during your language classes, and then enjoy all there is to do outside of class. Shinto shrines, public baths, a jazz festival in Ryokuchi Park, great shopping and regional delicacies…what do you most look forward to doing in Osaka?

Total Japanese Immersion

You’ll take intensive language classes, live with a local roommate, and even uphold a limited language pledge as a gap student. Every day you’ll be out in the community practicing what you’ve learned. Chat with locals about their thoughts on music trends or endangered species in Japan. Experience Osaka Castle through the eyes of a local. The result? You’ll leave Japan with college credits, incredible language gains, and unforgettable experiences.

Local Roommates

Living with local roommates is about more than just sharing a house. The roommates—recruited from the host university and eager to introduce you to the best of Osaka—can show you where to get the best noodles, how to decipher a train map, and where to find the bookstore with the widest selection of manga. Choose how to stock your shared kitchen. Plan a beach outing. Or join a roommate on a weekend trip to their hometown.
