During the first day of the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, I went with my friend to visit her mom working at the Taipei Flower Market. This is the view from inside the live flower market at 增山蘭園.
One Saturday, the Taiwanese class went to Tamsui to practice ordering in Taiwanese and learn the names of some local foods. This is the river view by my favorite coffee shop in Tamsui: Café La Vie Révée Des Anges.
I’ve been visiting the National Theater during the weekends, and this is the set of “Margaret Leng Tan: Dragon Ladies Don’t Weep” in the experimental theater.
While waiting for my friend to show up to go to the Raohe night market, I walked around the Songshan station, which has this large moving light-up whale singing at its entrance.
This was one of my favorite views of an architectural exhibition in MOCA Taipei.
The skyline from the balcony of my friend’s nail studio lights up the clouds at night.
The interior of Don Don Donki in Ximen is packed full of food, knick-knacks, and much else. My roommates and I had a fun time exploring this Japanese supermarket during the weekend.
My internship in Taipei is at an art restoration studio. Since I arrived, there’s been an ongoing project on this painting from the 1800s. Most days at my internship, we break for tea around 5 pm. On this day, tea time had particularly plentiful snacks, including apples, corn, fruit cookies (水果餅), and wafers.
I went to Tainan with my language partner during the long holiday due to Tomb Sweeping Day and Children’s Day. This is a famous candied fruits store in An Ping Old Street.
