Welcome Dinner: Jordanian BBQ Delight

CET students enjoying their welcome dinner of Jordanian BBQ! Delicious! I especially enjoyed the labneh and fattoush.
Sunset Views from Swefieh

Watching the sunset with my roommate from the balcony of our student housing in the Swefieh area of Amman. We love living in apartments with local neighbors. Our neighbors have taught us some Jordanian card games.
Amman Citadel
Visiting the Amman Citadel ruins with other students. These are the ruins of the Roman Temple of Hercules, built between 162–166 CE, but never completed.

CET students visit the ruins of the Ummayad Palace in the Amman Citadel. The palace was built in the first half of the 8th century.

CET students look over Amman from a scenic point near the Amman Citadel. What a fun and beautiful visit!
Friday Market Adventures

CET students visit the huge weekly Friday market on Thursday night to grab the best thrift deals on clothing, kitchenware, jewelry, and more! Our professors encouraged us to explore it after class, and a large group of us went and explored the deals! I got a new red sweater for $1JOD that I can’t wait to wear.
Arabica Café in Swefieh

CET students visit Arabica café in Swefieh Village to study for their upcoming quiz. The Spanish latte was delicious. Café culture is very big here, and Jordanians love to go to cafes in the evening for hours at a time.
Jordanian Wedding Experience

CET students looking nice in their Jordanian formal wear before visiting a Jordanian wedding with our neighbors! A beautiful and once-in-a-lifetime experience! At the wedding, we were separated into two rooms by gender and celebrated with dancing and sweets!
