MENUMENU

CET Colombia

Study Race, Ethnicity, Identity

At CET Colombia, you’ll study race and identity through the Afro-Colombian lens. And where better to do so than Cali, a city with the 2nd biggest population of African descent in South America? The program’s curriculum, developed in consultation with Howard University, allows you to examine the sociopolitical, economic, artistic, and historical representations of race and ethnicity in Colombia.
Cali Market

Find Community in Cali

Practice what you learned in Spanish class with peers in the cafeteria. Learn and see Colombia with the cohort during the Traveling Seminar. Join a student club at Universidad del Valle. Chat with staff about the best place to eat in town. Check out the live music scene with your Colombian roommate. With a supportive community of teachers, on-site staff, and local roommates in Cali—you’ll feel at home in no time.

Discover Colombian Diversity

Colombia has diversity in more ways than one. Swim in the beautiful beaches of Tayrona National Park. Visit the mysterious ancient statues of San Agustín. Explore the coastal deserts along the northern shores. See the stars amid the rock formations of Huila. Colombia even boasts stretches of the world’s largest rainforest, the Amazon. Exploration is rewarded in Colombia.
