I visited Taipei Fine Arts Museum with two of my coworkers to take pictures and videos for Taiwan News’ Instagram.
I hiked up all the stairs at 象山 (Xiàngshān: Elephant Mountain) with friends for a spectacular view of Taipei 101 at night.
My friend and I took a gondola to Maokong and made our way to
a traditional tea house. This walkway is the path to the entrance of a
teahouse. Then, we drank fragrant jasmine tea at the tea house while it
drizzled.
Exploring different night markets and trying new foods with
friends is an essential experience.
Eating mango-shaved ice with a friend after finishing our work for the day.
I visited Sun Yat-Sen Memorial and viewed the free art exhibit
featuring art made by National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)
professors and students. This excursion was one of the first times I
explored Taipei alone, and it was very empowering.
One of my favorite parts of this summer was my morning routine
with my roommate; our rush to make it to our bus on time every morning,
finding random places to buy breakfast, and walking to class while chatting.
I visited Sun Moon Lake with a few other CET students, and we
biked the 30-kilometer trail around the entire perimeter. I couldn’t feel my
legs by the end, but it was a beautiful ride, and I am proud that we
managed to bike the entire thing.
Visiting the first day of the Daxi-Daxi festival with my roommate
and our friend was one of my absolute favorite things I did. I wrote an
article about the festival for Taiwan News a few days before it started and
went to the festival to take photos and videos for Taiwan News’ social
media. In this photo, we were about to buy traditional peanut ice cream
rolls to cool off!
I visited the Wai’ao black sand beach after class one day with a
friend. We ate lunch, took the train to the beach and went swimming.
Finally, we ate dinner at a little pizza place with a spectacular view of the
ocean and Turtle island
