CET’s ready-made Barcelona itinerary for your program focused on Innovation & Entrepreneurship offers everything you’ll need to take a group of your students abroad for an academically enriching experience without worrying about the logistical details. With CET’s local expertise, you’ll let someone else handle the details with CET-arranged housing, transportation, meals, insurance, activities, and excursions. CET also identifies guest lecturers, site visits, workshops, and other elements to make the learning come to life. Beyond all this, you’ll benefit from CET’s stellar student support throughout the program, accompanying you on all program activities and collaboratively managing incidents and emergencies as they arise.

Why host a program in Barcelona, Spain?

From a historical look at the city’s transformation from an industrial hub to an innovation capital, to examining the city’s strategies and initiatives for entrepreneurship and talent attraction, and even conversations with start-ups, financial institutions, global firms, your students will gain an understanding of how Barcelona and Catalonia support creative industries, diversify the local economy, and attract sustainable investment. With guest speakers from and visits to sites such as Barcelona’s Tech City Initiative, 22 Innovation District, Pier 01, FinTech Hub, the Barcelona Stock Exchange, out-of-classroom learning transforms concepts into first-hand experiences that will be truly unforgettable.

Building your Innovation & Entrepreneurship program

Choose between two program durations—two or four weeks—depending on institutional needs and overall goals. Both program durations include a baseline set of features like airport pickup, arrival orientation, dedicated classroom space, insurance, etc. 

Two-week program: Experience-focused

The two-week model is a good fit for a highly experiential program that may be an add-on for a course taught on campus during the semester or offers fewer credits than a typical course. This model has a more intensive schedule, but can be more cost-effective and provides a great option for students who can’t take more time away or are first-time travelers.

Base inclusions
  • Airport pickup at BCN
  • Arrival orientation: Covers program introduction, health and safety, walking tour, icebreaker activities, scavenger hunt in the city
  • Dedicated classroom space with technology: Arranged Monday to Thursday, according to program's instructional and meeting needs
  • Insurance
  • Public transit pass
  • 24/7 staff support to accompany group for all CET-organized activities, arrange all logistics, provide healthy & safety management
Two-week model inclusions
  • Student and faculty housing in CET-arranged student dormitories (subject to availability), hotels or shared apartment-style accommodations)
  • Survival Catalan language session, intro session on Spanish and Catalan cultures
  • 2 guest lectures from local scholars and experts in line with program theme
  • 2 co-curricular activities: Guided tours and site visits to museums/companies/NGOs/universities, etc. (translation services included as needed)
  • 2 extra-curricular activities (e.g., workshops on cooking local cuisine, castellers (human towers), mosaics, etc.)
  • 1 day trip outside the city including coach bus transportation (e.g., Girona, Montserrat, Tarragona, Sitges, Tossa de Mar, Figueres and Dalí Museum)
  • 2 group meals

The four-week model is a good fit for faculty leaders who plan to teach a course while abroad that requires a specific number of contact hours, lectures, formal class meetings, and classroom time. Enjoy a less intensive schedule with more time to space out the CET-organized components that augment your course. This longer model also offers the opportunity to include homestays, if of interest, as well as longer overnight excursions to other parts of Spain, that can’t be included a two-week model.

Four-week model inclusions
  • Student and faculty housing in  CET-arranged homestays, student dormitories (subject to availability), hotels, or shared apartment-style accommodations
  • 4 guest lectures from local scholars and experts in line with program theme
  • 4 co-curricular activities: Guided tours and site visits to museums/companies/NGOs/universities, etc. (translation services included as needed)
  • 2 extra-curricular activities (e.g., workshops on flamenco, cooking local cuisine, castellers (human towers), mosaics, etc.)
  • 2 day trips outside the city including coach bus transportation (e.g., Girona, Montserrat, Tarragona, Sitges, Tossa de Mar, Figueres and Dalí Museum)
  • 1 overnight excursions (for one or two nights) to destinations like Sevilla, Granada, Córdoba, Valencia, or Madrid
  • 4 group meals

CET Jordan: Academic Consultation Board

Over the years, we’ve built a strong network of locally-based faculty that we’re proud to call our peers. These faculty make up our Academic Consultation Board—a select group of local voices and thought leaders that help advise and shape components of the CET Jordan program. 

Board members support the program in many ways, including but not limited to:

  • Leveraging topical expertise to help develop courses, including field-based components.
  • Teaching courses or guest lectures for CET Jordan and custom programs
  • Recommending and providing academic resources for research
