Spring has finally come to Praha! My new favorite activity has become paddle boating on the Vltava river: it offers some beautiful views of the city and is a perfect way to get outside in the city.
Last night my friends and I had our last big “family” dinner, where everyone from our apartment got together for a meal. It was a great way to catch up after busy weekends and we got to hear everyone’s highs and lows and what they’re looking forward to in the coming weeks.
Prague’s very own Lennon Wall. The wall became a place for people to express their frustrations with the Communist regime in Prague by painting lyrics of songs popular in the Western world. Now it’s a place for people to make their own mark and it’s constantly changing.
Spring in Praha is absolutely beautiful and the gardens have opened for people to explore. Many of the gardens near the castle are home to flocks of peacocks.
A view of Prague Castle from Strahov Monastery–the view is extra special with all of the flowering trees that are currently blossoming.
As a continuation of our traveling seminar, we were able to visit Budapest two weekends ago. This is a view of the Parliament from the Fisherman’s Bastion. Budapest used to be 2 separate cities, Buda & Pest. Pest is where the Parliament can be found, while the castle is on the Buda side.
While in Budapest we went for an excursion to the town of Szentendre. It was a picturesque small town that used to be a popular artist colony. It was a great way to escape the busy cities that we’ve been visiting.
My favorite thing about Budapest was definitely the thermal baths! The Széchenyi Medicinal Bath is particularly beautiful, and we sat in the warm water for hours watching the sun set. It was a great way to end the traveling seminar.
Last week I took a bus to Croatia with two of my friends that I met through CET, Julia & Sophie. The great thing about studying in Europe, especially Prague, is that everything is relatively close, if you’re willing to take an overnight bus.
Croatia was absolutely beautiful, this is a view of the Split’s Old Town from the boat cruise that we took while there. It was a great last trip of the semester and I’m excited to spend my last two weeks focused on checking off everything on my Prague bucket list!
