Last weekend CET embarked on a day trip to the Great Wall, or 长城 in Chinese. The initial walk up was much steeper and longer than many, me included, had anticipated. In retrospect, I should have expected that the walk up to the top of a mountain would be challenging!

Cover photo caption: If you’re now noticing a theme, visiting The Great Wall was and will remain a great highlight of my time in China, alongside visiting The Forbidden City. Over a thousand years of history can be told through its stonework, the same cannot be said for any structures back home. It’s one thing to read of these monolithic architectural feats, but to walk along it is a thrilling and humbling experience.
