As part of our commitment to increasing access to study abroad for all students, we are proud to announce enhancements to our scholarship offerings for college study abroad.
CET awards over $400,000 in financial awards each year to students studying on CET programs. Last August, we asked members of our National Advisory Council how we could better use these funds to help deserving students study abroad. We took their recommendations to heart and have expanded our scholarship offerings to align them with our core values and help students clearly see themselves in the options available.
Types of CET Scholarships:
- Need-Based Scholarship: Our most popular scholarship! This scholarship is awarded to students with demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to Pell Grant-eligible students. Award amounts range from $500 to $1500.
- Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship: CET is committed to creating inclusive program environments that reflect the diversity of the world in which we live. To support this mission, this scholarship is awarded to first-generation college students and students from racial/ethnic minority groups studying with CET. Priority will be given to students who also demonstrate financial need. Two awards will be given each term: $2,000 for fall/spring programs and $1,500 for summer programs.
- Academic Excellence Scholarship: Academic excellence is another core value at the heart of what we do. To award our highest achieving students, CET offers a limited number of merit-based scholarships to students with demonstrated academic achievement. Recipients must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and articulate how their chosen CET program will further their academic goals now and in the future. Two awards will be given each term: $1,500 for Fall/Spring and $1,000 for the summer term.
- Kateřina Jurečková Scholarship for Jewish Studies: The CET Kateřina Jurečková Scholarship for Jewish Studies is open to students studying on the CET Prague program with a specific interest in Jewish Studies. One $1,000 award will be given each term. Katerina “Katka” Jurecková (1975 – 2018) served as Resident Director of the CET Prague program from 2012 until March 2018 when she lost a hard-fought battle with cancer. Katka was a dedicated staff member who cared deeply about her students. As a devoted member of the Prague Jewish Community, she loved to help students build ties to the community and learn about Jewish history in Central Europe. We are proud to honor Katka’s legacy through this scholarship.
Students receive access to all scholarship applications when they begin a CET program application. They may apply for as many CET Scholarships as they like. Each application includes short answer questions and one essay whose prompt matches the spirit of the award. Scholarships that consider financial need also ask for current financial aid information.
