Custom One-on-One Learning
This is the epitome of tailored language learning. With one-on-one sessions, the pace, content, and even how you learn is up to you. Choose to have homework assignments or opt for local TV and music to be integrated into your sessions. Focus on a specific realm of vocabulary like business or politics. Or simply get started learning a new language or refresh dormant skills from previous years. Whatever your goal might be, we’re here to help you achieve it.

No matter which language you take on, your teacher is passionate, invested in your progress, and experienced in effective virtual instruction. And because each of them comes from a study abroad background, you get an unparalleled level of expertise in your one-on-one sessions.

CUstomize your training
After you choose a language (Arabic, Chinese, or Japanese), you customize your training program to fit your learning goals and schedule.
- Fall quarter: September 14, 2020 to November 20, 2020
- Winter quarter: January 11, 2021 to March 19, 2021
- Spring quarter: March 29, 2021 to June 4, 2021
- Summer quarter: June 21, 2021 to August 27, 2021
Choose the amount of language training that best suits your language goals:
- 20 hours (approx. 2 hours/week)
- 40 hours (approx. 4 hours/week)
- 60 hours (approx. 6 hours/week)
Specific language target in mind?
If you have a measured proficiency goal you’d like to achieve (e.g. a certain level on HSK or ACTFL OPI, working toward a professional certification, etc.), CET offers a separate option outside of the language hour packages listed above.

*Please note that instructors work in different time zones across the world.
Your language training hours are live, online, and on your terms. Work with your instructor to design a 10-week training program that works for you—commit to the same number of weekly hours, front-load your sessions, or even schedule around busy weeks in your calendar. Once your schedule is set, you and your instructor meet regularly to get after your language goals.

Fees vary by language and enrolled hours.

Open to language learners of all levels—from total beginners to advanced learners with specific goals.
Fall 2020: October 7

Register through your online CET account. This is a brief form that asks for basic information and has a few short answer questions about your language goals and current enrollment status, if any.
This is a basic self-assessment that helps us get a better idea of where your existing language proficiency stands. Not required for absolute language beginners.
