Prague, Czech Republic: Is this study abroad program for you? This is a program for artists who work in new and diverse media such as video installation, conceptual artworks, experimental documentary, expanded-to-database cinema, intermedia performance or interactive work. Students take courses at the renowned Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). They explore the Prague arts scene, and exhibit their work at a local gallery. This is a small, highly selective program, and one of the only ones designed specifically for new media or intermedia artists.

What is New Media? “…New media arts consist of so many practices and every new media artist works differently….I think if there is one thing that all new media artists have in common, it’s their desire to use technologies, no matter how high-tech or low-fi, in interesting and thought provoking ways.” – Braden League, Maryland Institute College of Art, Prague Spring 2014
