Intensive Language + Part-Time Internship

Your day starts with 3 hours of intensive Chinese language class with other ICLP students. You’ll have an hour of one-on-one instruction, followed by small group classes. Study traditional or simplified characters—or both, you choose. 2 or 3 afternoons a week, you’ll head to your internship where you can put the theories you’ve studied into action. And as you collect work experience, you can share stories with peers and get tips for succeeding in the Chinese workplace during your internship companion course. You’ll head home with improved Chinese skills and the ability to thrive in any future opportunity that comes your way.

Endless Internship Possibilities

Intern in the private sector with a special emphasis on high-tech. Or choose from the many placement options available to you in the political, educational, and civil society sectors. Wherever you intern, gain practical experience, improve language skills, build your résumé, and see what it’s like to work in a professional environment in Taiwan.

Sample Internships

We make every attempt to match you with a placement of your choice, but the actual projects you do will be determined by your host organization.

  • Fulbright Taiwan
  • The China Post
  • Taipei Zoo
  • Democratic Progressive Party

Why Study at ICLP

The International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) has been around since 1963. For decades, ICLP has been the place for graduate students, scholars, and professionals to buckle down and get their Chinese up to near-native fluency. Using their own specially crafted materials and providing you with plenty of individual attention and language support, studying at ICLP will enable you to reach new heights you never thought possible. And if that’s not enough, we’re the first study abroad provider to partner with ICLP. So you’ll have access to not one but two robust alumni networks…CET & ICLP.
