Gap at CET Jordan

Flexibility in Designing Your Studies

Learning Arabic is not a one-size-fits-all process. All students take Modern Standard Arabic and the appropriate level of Jordanian Dialect, but there’s room for adjustments to meet individual learning styles. Do you need more one-on-one instruction? Are you trying to build vocabulary on a specific topic? Want even more opportunities for applied language practice? This program has the resources to customize your learning experience, just let on-site staff know.

Total Arabic Immersion

As a gap student, you’ll take 10 credits of language classes (or 6 credits in the summer), meet with an Arabic language partner, attend language activities, and uphold a part-time language pledge. You’ll even live with a local roommate in a traditional Jordanian neighborhood for continued immersion outside of class. Diving in won’t be easy, but when you’ve got college credits and the skills to back them up, we think you’ll find all the hard work worth it.

Community Approach to City Living

One of the hard parts of studying abroad is finding a community overseas. But don’t worry—CET sets that up for you from day one. Not only will you learn the skills to help you navigate and thrive in Jordanian society, but you’ll also have a tight network of staff, teachers, roommates, and peers who care about your well-being and progress. And as a gap student, you’ll even have weekly meetings for a little extra support.
