Gap at CET Siena

Attention from Staff

Enjoy plenty of individual attention and support to help you get the most out of your gap experience. Staff go the extra mile, and do everything they can to get you integrated into local life. Want advice for things to do with a new Italian friend? Want to learn how to cook? Want to get a group together for a museum crawl? Program staff love Italy, they love Siena, and they want nothing more than for you to love it, too.

Explore the City, Country & Continent

Walk through the Piazza del Campo on your way to class. Take a bike ride in the beautiful surrounding Tuscan countryside. Then let us guide you to a different side of Italy on the Traveling Seminar to Sicily. And your travels don’t have to stop there. Easily expand your explorations to the rest of Europe—gaze at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, or the Charles Bridge in Prague.

Immerse in Siena

Share a home with an Italian family and experience life as a local. Get to know your neighbors. Volunteer at a local non-profit. Linger after class to chat with your Italian instructor. You’ll make daily discoveries about the local culture, whether you’re shopping in the open air market or enjoying an aperitivo with new friends in Piazza del Campo. Though your travels will take you far from Italy on the weekends, you’ll always be glad to return home to Siena.
