My name Gayron Berman and I am a senior at Wellesley College majoring in international relations. In the spring and summer of 2012, I studied abroad in Irbid, Jordan. While I enjoyed my entire experience in Jordan, I will always treasure the class discussions that took place in my dialect class. I learned things I would not have fully comprehended had those discussions taken place in the United States.

My name is Katherine Hayes and I am currently a senior at American University, but I spent the fall semester of my junior year at Yarmouk University participating in the Intensive Arabic Language & Culture Studies program in Irbid, Jordan. My favorite memory from this study abroad experience was an afternoon spent with my friend’s family in a small village outside of Irbid. The entire family and I gathered together to eat mansef, a traditional Jordanian dish, and then my friend took me to help out with the annual olive harvesting on their farm.
