I am a third-year undergraduate studying music and international studies at the University of Michigan. When I participated in the CET Chinese Studies & Internship in Shanghai program, one of my favorite memories was baking with my Chinese teacher.

I am a senior at Colorado College, pursuing a major in biology and a minor in Asian studies. I attended the Chinese Studies & Internship in Shanghai program during the spring 2012 term. My favorite memory from my time abroad was getting to spend time with my Chinese roommate!

I am a proud Commodore who hails from Vanderbilt University. I took part in the Chinese Studies & Internship program in Shanghai during the summer of 2012. I was the summer program coordinator for a nonprofit organization that teaches English to Chinese migrant children. While in China, I had the chance to race go-karts underground a shopping mall, barter in local marketplaces, eat mouth-watering food from questionable establishments and climb to the top of a mountain, where I spent the night at a Daoist monastery under a blanket of stars.

My name is Christine Swanson and I am a senior history major at Elon University. My decision to study abroad in Shanghai and Kunming has had a major impact on my studies and my career. My only regret is not going sooner! In Shanghai, I interned as a Research Assistant at Fudan University and in Kunming I spent two months immersing in the culture with a full-time language pledge.
