I study political science and economics at SUNY Albany. For the longest time, I have had a strong interest in the Middle East. I was lucky enough to have studied Arabic in Syria during the summer of 2010 through CET. My most treasured memory from my time in Syria is…everything, really. I loved all of the Syrians I met.

I’m a senior at Swarthmore and in my third year of Arabic study as part of my Islamic Studies Honors Minor. This past summer, I was part of the inaugural CET Aleppo program, and learned so much from our talented young professors at the University of Aleppo. Of all my memories abroad, I particularly enjoyed waking up to watch the sunrise from the 2000 year old ruins in Palmyra.
