We got a chance to play a game of cricket on the Ghats with some locals. We weren’t very good but it was entertaining!

We had a walking tour of the southern end of Varanasi with a local expert, Aaje-Ji. We had a chance to see many local temples and historical sites.

This is a Buddhist temple at Saranath. Saranath is one of the four most important sites for Buddhists because it is where Buddha gave his first sermon after receiving enlightenment.

We spent a long weekend in Kathmandu, Nepal. This is one of the small temples we saw while exploring the city. It was a great change of pace from the busy Varanasi.

This is the sun rise in Nepal over the Himalayas. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Our weekend in Nepal was truly unforgettable.

We were able to watch and take part in an Indian fire dancing performance! It is an old sport that many have forgotten but is truly amazing. Here is my classmate Aanand trying out his skills.

The view from Varanasi rooftops is beautiful. Watching the sun rise is always a great way to start the day!

We’ve taken a few boat rides while in Varanasi. The view of the Ghats from the Ganges is mesmerizing. It is also a great way to get away from the busy city life and cool off from the heat.

We were able to visit the BHU Campus New Vishwanath Temple. It was beautiful both inside and out!
