Central European Studies in Prague Don't miss this
opportunity to spend an exciting spring, summer or fall term delving
into Central Europe's rich history and culture. The region's arts,
architecture and literature, as well as its complex political and
economic transitions will come alive through high quality courses with
dynamic local professors and CET's exclusive extracurricular activities
and excursions. Central European Studies features high levels of
immersion into Prague and Czech culture, through partnerships with
Czech cultural and civic associations, community service activities and
optional internships.
Film Production in Prague CET's Film Production program is designed for students
who are highly motivated to produce and direct their own stories in
16mm film. In the fall semester, students with previous production
experience in 16mm may apply to work in 35mm. Space on the 35mm program is
limited and is granted on a competitive basis.The program is hosted by FAMU, the Film and Television
School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, one of Europe's oldest and
finest film academies. This relationship with FAMU allows students on the Film
Production program an exclusive experience unequaled in the film education
world. Central to the program is a master class on film production. Students
learn through the production process itself and in on-site workshops.
Photography in Prague Students with prior experience in photography are
invited to study the theory and practice of photography
with an expert mentor while living in
a city that radiates beauty and thrives in
the arts. Students on this program take
advantage of individualized instruction
and a wide range of resources from the
prestigious photo department of FAMU.
New Media in Prague The New Media program is hosted by
FAMU's Center for Audio Visual Studies,
an art school within a film school. The
department focuses on production of
moving image works "beyond cinema"
including topics such as video installation
and interactive works, locative
and mobile media, code based projects,
conceptual artworks, multi-channel
and multi-threaded sound and image
practice, experimental documentary, and
expanded-to-database cinema.
