Air Travel
CET is able to offer students round trip international tickets to Italy at competitive prices through our travel partner, Premiere Travel. Students who choose to purchase their air tickets through Premiere Travel can fly to Italy on a flight that may also have other CET program students. Students who arrange their flight through Premiere Travel may be met at the airport by CET program representatives.

Students accepted to a CET program will receive an email from Premiere Travel with more information about flights and information about how to purchase tickets. In addition, students will receive, approximately two weeks prior to the program start date, information about transferring from the airport to the program site upon arrival.

Continuing Student Discount
Past participants agree: the combination of two or more CET programs is greater than the sum of its parts! Spending a full academic year abroad puts students firmly on the path toward linguistic and cultural expertise. We encourage all students to consider this option and will provide a $500 discount for each additional semester you enroll with CET.

A Note About Costs
CET reserves the right to increase quoted charges at any time without prior notification, based on increased instruction costs, exchange rate fluctuation or other cost increases beyond CET's control. This right includes but is not limited to surcharging students for additional costs incurred due to under-enrollment in any given course.

Insurance
Medical insurance is provided to CET students by Cultural Insurance Services International and is included in the price of the program. For more information about specific coverage, download the CISI Flyer and the CISI Coverage Brochure.

Passports and Visas
Students will obtain their own visa with assistance from CET. Students must have a valid passport in order to receive a visa. For more information about passports and visas, click here.

Credit and Transcripts

One of the questions we are most frequently asked is: "How many credits will I receive for attending a CET program?"

The simple answer to this question is that CET does not award credit. Instead, CET recommends an appropriate number of credits for each course and it is up to the discretion of each student's home institution to award credits according to its own credit system. The vast majority of institutions whose students have attended CET's programs have granted credit according to CET's recommendations.

In order to facilitate the process of credit awards, CET will provide each student upon written request an official transcript jointly issued by the overseas host institution and CET. The transcript will state the names of all courses taken, the total number of course contact hours, the total number of class hours attended by the student, all grades earned and recommended credits for each course. Because CET requires that all students take a full course load regardless of program, and prohibits students from taking courses pass/fail, CET consistently recommends that students receive a full semester's worth of credit for each program (typically 15 to 18 total credits in the fall or spring, and 7 to 9 total credits in the summer). Recommended credits for each course are noted in each program's Academics section of this website. CET will not issue a transcript for any student who has an outstanding account balance.

For more information about transcripts and the system by which CET recommends credits, click here.

Cancellations and Refunds
CET reserves the right to cancel any program prior to departure, in which case the entire payment, including processing fees, will be refunded without further obligation on our part.

Students who choose to cancel prior to a program's start date are eligible for a partial refund even if CET later decides to cancel the program. If an enrolled student chooses to interrupt his/her participation after a program's commencement, for any reason whatsoever, or chooses not to attend certain parts of the program, there is no refund for any unused portions of that program.

Please note that CET does not accept liability for any airline cancellation penalty incurred by the purchase of a non-refundable ticket.

Administration

CET's Italy programs are jointly administered by CET and the respective host institutions in Siena, Catania and Florence. CET's academic programs are monitored by an advisory board of experts in the fields.

CET is a division of Academic Travel Abroad, Inc (ATA). ATA has been providing educational programs to non-profit institutions for over 50 years.

Student Selection
The admissions committee selects students based on their academic performance, recommendations, seriousness of purpose and desire to participate in the program. CET's minimum cumulative GPA for admissions is 3.0; exceptions may be made under special circumstances.
