We are pleased to announce a new partnership and a new program with Howard University! At the Howard in Colombia program, due to launch in Fall 2018, students will study race, identity, and ethnicity through the Afro-Colombian lens. The program will be based in Cali, the third largest city in Colombia and center of Afro-Colombian life. Outside the classroom, students will share apartments with Colombian roommates and embark on a week-long Traveling Seminar to Cartagena de Indias.
This program represents a true collaboration: Howard faculty are shaping the curriculum, CET is building connections in Colombia and laying the groundwork for the pilot semester. Students from all institutions are welcome to apply, and the application will open in January 2018.
We are thrilled to be working with Howard and excited to add Colombia to our growing portfolio of social justice programs in Latin America.
