How can I learn more about the country in which my son or daughter is studying abroad?

Research the destination together! Of course the internet is a great resource for information, but consider the following: Watch a foreign film together, look up national holidays and find out how they are celebrated, or read a book by a famous author from that country. CET provides your son or daughter with a handbook in their online account. The handbook contains detailed information about the destination country, including helpful links and lists of books and movies. Ask your son or daughter to share the handbook with you.

What is CET Parent Week?

In conjunction with AuthentiCity Travel, CET offers 2012 Parent Week programs in Beijing, Siena and Florence. These weeklong programs are designed so that parents can visit the CET sites and experience the same culture as their son or daughter.

Parent Week programs are scheduled right before or right after the midterm break, and do not interfere with program academics. Parents enjoy a full schedule of activities—some with students and some just for them. There is also ample free time scheduled during the evenings to allow families time together.

For more information about Parent Week, call AuthentiCity Travel at 1-800-556-7896. Or, follow these links for information about Parent Week in Siena, Florence (spring semester), Florence (fall semester) or Beijing (for parents of Chinese Studies & Service-Learning students only).
