Internet FAQs

Can I access the internet from my dorm in China?

Yes. Internet access is available in most dorms. Depending on your program, you may have broadband or wireless.

Can I access the internet from my apartment in the Czech Republic?

Yes. Wireless internet is provided in the apartments. The CET center is also equipped with wireless access during business hours and has a small computer lab. There is no wireless in the classrooms. Internet cafés are prevalent around Prague.

Can I access the internet from my apartment in Italy?

Yes. The student apartments in Florence, Siena and Sicily are equipped with DSL and wireless internet service. The CET centers in Florence and Siena provide wireless access during business hours. In the CET center in Catania, internet is provided on student computers or with DSL cables. Limited internet is available in homestays in Florence and Siena.

Can I access the internet from my apartment in Japan?

Yes. Internet is available in the apartments. There is also wireless internet access in the J-Chat lounge on campus. Other computer labs also have a wired connection. There is no wireless in the classrooms.

Can I access the internet from my apartment in Jordan?

No. The apartments are not wired for internet access. However, students can access wi-fi on the Yarmouk University campus. They can also take advantage of the campus area’s many internet cafés.

Can I access the internet from the hospitality house in Syria?

Yes. Wireless internet is available in the hospitality house. Two computer labs are available during business hours. Internet cafés are also available.

Can I access the internet from my apartment in Tunisia?

No. The apartments are not wired for internet access. However, students can access wi-fi at the CET center and on the Mediterranean School of Business campus. There are also many internet cafés near campus.

Can I access the internet from the guest house in Vietnam?

Yes. Wireless internet is available in the common area of the guest house. The CET center is equipped with wireless internet during business hours and has two computers available for student use.

I heard the internet is different in other countries. Is this true?

Yes. While lightning quick cable internet connections are common in the US, you may experience slower connection speeds in other countries. CET provides internet for academic purposes. Downloading music, videos and other large files, or accessing popular US websites may take much longer. Internet connection in Japan is the most comparable to what we are accustomed to in the US.
