30th Anniversary Video and Blog Contest

2012 marks CET’s 30th year of operating university study abroad programs—the first CET group studied in Beijing in the summer of 1982. To celebrate, CET is hosting alumni events in Washington DC, Beijing and Shanghai. Throughout the year, CET wants to highlight you, our alumni, and feature creative content from you on our blog, YouTube channel and other social media.

Enter for a chance to win great prizes, including a trip to China to attend the CET 30th Anniversary Celebrations in Beijing (June 23rd, 2012) or Shanghai (November 2012, exact date TBD). All submissions will be featured on the CET blog and the CET social media outlets.

Eligibility

  • All contestants must have completed a CET semester, summer or JanTerm program.
  • All contestants must be registered on the CET Alumni Record.

Criteria

Alumni may submit one entry from each of the following categories, for a maximum of two entries. Each entry should reflect the alumni’s overall CET experience or a favorite CET memory:

  • A three-paragraph blog entry with at least two photos
  • A video (up to three minutes maximum)

Prizes

CET has an array of fantastic prizes for the winning contestants. The first place prize is a trip to China (hotel and flight) to attend the CET 30th Anniversary Celebrations in Beijing (June 23, 2012) or Shanghai (November 2012, exact date TBD)!

Deadline

  • All entries are due April 30th, 2012.
  • Winners will be announced May 7th, 2012 on the CET blog.
  • Please submit no more than one entry per category.
  • This contest is open to CET alumni only.

Blog Entry Guidelines

  • Please type blog entry text in a Microsoft Word document.
  • Please submit high resolution JPEG photos only (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Word documents and photos must be submitted as attachments.
  • Please use this format to title photos: FirstName.Last Name# (ex: Marisa.Sterling01, Marisa.Sterling02).
  • Photos may be either images that you have taken, or images of you. If the latter, please credit the photographer whenever possible.

Video Entry Guidelines

  • Please submit video files that are YouTube compliant.
  • Videos must not exceed three minutes.

Instructions for Submission

The submission email should include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Name/Location/Term of the CET program attended
  • Video Title/Title of Blog Entry
  • A short caption or description of the video/photos included
  • Home university/college

Please note that CET reserves the right to keep any/all media entered in the video/blog contest for promotional use. Promotional use includes, but is not limited to print, video and digital media. All media will be credited when used. CET has the sole right to determine future use of all media.
